Accounts & Audit 2024/25

The Parish Council met for the last time in 2023 on Wednesday 20th December. In this meeting the council finalised the budget for 2024/5. The budget that was set determines in part how much council tax will be within the Parish. I am pleased to say that the council were able to reduce the parish council's precept which is the parish element of council tax by 23.5% meaning that a band D property will see the annual parish tax reduce from £30.49 to £23.33. That equates to £1.95 per month of 45p per week. This is considerably cheaper than many other parish and town councils.

This has been achieved by effective financial management and is assisted by other sources of income such as the Pentewan public car park. I am sure that Cornwall Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner will increase their elements of the council tax, however, it is satisfying to play our part in keeping bills as low as possible for you, particularly when money is so tight for many.
